What sets Applied Behavior Analysis apart from other therapies is its data. Effective data recording methods are utilized and instructional decisions are directed by client performance data.
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is the process of systematically applying interventions based upon the principles of learning theory to improve socially significant behaviors to a meaningful degree, and to demonstrate that the interventions employed are responsible for the improvement in behavior (Baer, Wolf & Risley, 1968; Sulzer-Azaroff & Mayer, 1991). Research in the area of ABA therapy began in the early 1960's. It has generated thousands of published peer reviewed articles across many settings. While the principals ABA therapy may be most well known for it's positive results with children with autism and related conditions, it has been shown to provide benefits to typical children as well. As a result of overwhelming evidence of its effectiveness, ABA therapy has been endorsed by the Surgeon General, New York State Department of Education and the American Academy of Pediatrics.
Generalization Programming is a systematic approach in which mastered skills are transferred to a more natural environment. Valuable skills can be taught using the principals of Applied Behavior Analysis. Once these skills are mastered it is important for the client to utilize them in his or her daily life. We train parents on how to implement this technique at home, at school and across all settings to help ensure their loved one's success.
We serve clients from 2 to 22 years of age in our center or at their home. Our spacious therapy rooms have been painted in low voc paint and we use non toxic cleaning agents to help provide a healthy learning environment for your child.
